Folks in the Vancouver area are invited to attend a Book Launch by local author Cathy Sosnowsky.
Cathy will be reading from her new book Snapshots, which documents her journey as
a bereaved parent coming to terms with multiple family losses.

Cathy Sosnowsky grew up and studied in Vancouver, B.C., and went on to teach at the University of British Columbia and at Langara College.  Her specialty was English literature, but she was also instrumental in establishing courses in Film Studies and Peace and Conflict Studies.  Although she has travelled extensively and lived abroad, she remains a West Coast woman, spending her summers sailing BC’s waters with her husband Woldy.  Her destination articles appear in Pacific Yachting.

After losing her teenage son in a freak accident, Sosnowsky turned to the writing of poetry and to the support of the international parent bereavement group, The Compassionate Friends.  She has presented poems from her collection Holding On: Poems for Alex at international conferences and on CBC radio.  Her short stories and essays have been published in the Globe and Mail and Room Magazine.  Currently, she coordinates a public lecture series for Langara College at Vancouver’s downtown library, and offers writing as healing workshops locally and internationally.  She is a B.C. director of The Compassionate Friends and edits their North Shore chapter’s newsletter.
